The initiative Young Women in the CRC 701 regularly organizes meetings that are intended for all female mathematicians. These Network Meetings provide an ideal joint meeting point for interested female master students, PhD students, PostDocs and professors. In addition to information about doing one’s PhD in mathematics and giving insight into current research projects, our Network Meetings focus on coming into contact with other female researchers, answering questions and exchanging experiences.
The initiative’s meetings normally take place once per semester.
Everyone's warmly invited to attend the talk.
There will be a joint dinner in terms of our Network Meetings right afterwards.
This semester's Network Meeting will start with an information event and all you need to know about the Young-Women-Initiative and its financial support.
Afterwards everyone interested is welcome to join us at the Bielefelder Christmas Market!
On the occassion of our fifth Network Meeting we kindly invite everyone to the talk "Emma Shadkan and Wladimir S. Woytinsky - Ein Forscher-Ehepaar in der Statistik". The talk by Annette Vogt deals with both scientists' lives and their joint work in statistics.
Afterwards everyone interested is welcome to join our Network Meeting in order to exhcange experiences and questions concerning a PhD in Maths!
The talk "Fermats letzer Satz aus der Sicht von Monsieur Le Blanc" is about the mathematician Sophie Germain (1779 – 1831) and her ideas to prove Fermat's Last Theorem.
Afterwards everyone is welcome to join our initiative's 4th Network Meeting!
The focus of our initiative's third Network Meeting is all on exchanging experiences with other female Mathematicians and asking/answering questions concerning a PhD in Mathematics. This time we meet on the christmas market in Bielefeld. For more details please see the related poster (in German only).
Our second Network Meeting is all about quivers and representation theory of algebras. We start with an interesting talk concerning this topic and afterwards continue with playing billiards. For more details please see the related poster (in German only).
The first Network Meeting of the Young Women in the CRC 701 starts with an overview talk about stochastic differential equations and Brownian motion. Afterwards there will be a short and sportive insight into Ju-Jutsu. For more details please see the related poster (in German only).
In order to give information about our initiative Young Women in the CRC 701 and doing a PhD in mathematics, we have organized a first opening workshop with an evening guided tour through Bielefeld. This workshop is intended for all female mathematicians, who are interested in starting a PhD or want to give a short insight into their research fields. For more details please see the related poster (in German only).
